Which TC for DA* SDM lens?

I'm looking into buying a TC for my 200mm SDM, any suggestions? Brand, price, 1.4X, 1.5X, 2X?

How do the ebay generic's perform compare to branded?

Any idea on when the pentax 1.4X will be released?

Many thanks in advance.

Check out this thread. It's a long read, but very informative.

If you want to retain AF, use the Tamron 1.4X MC4 version. You can find it on Ebay and even here on the forum. Another choice is the Kenko 1.5X (again, MC 4, not the new version being sold at present). I use a Promaster Spectrum 7 1.7X TC, which hunts but can't AF with SDM on my DA* 300. It will AF with an old body though, like the *ist or K 100D/110D using the screw drive. Don't know if the modern Sigma EX TCs will be compatible, though. If they are, SDM will work.

Cheers!

hm...about some TC which don't support SDMs on newer bodies. Is it possible to block the KAF2 electronic conducts (say like tapeing it down with something), so it'll use and work the screw drive instead?

And secondly, have anyone try putting two or more TC together to get ultra tele, how much would this destroy image quality?

Haha....too greedy for questions.
