New DA 55-300/F4-5.8 - first serious shots

I went out for my first full shoot which included the the new lens. It replaces my A70-200/F4. Colours & resolution seem good.

K20D. ISO 200.

@55mm FL, F8, 6s

@ 300mm FL, F8, 2s (aimed at left tall building of the 55mm FL shot)

100% crop (no resizing) from previous 300mm FL shot (near the top left)

Yes, same part of the Brisbane CBD that it covered with these M28/F2.8 & M50/F1.7 shots:

Thanks for putting these up. I have been considering replacing my DA 50-200 lens for this one as the extra 100 mm would be rather handy at fly-ins. Focus and colors look very nice at 300.

I picked a DA 55-300 up the other week and am VERY impressed with it so far. Well worth taking on board.

There's something about a city, on a river, at night, that makes for some great photo opportunities.

Good examples Dan.
There hasn't been enough good things said about this consumer zoom.
It seems to be the best performer in its class.
