SMC Pentax-DA* 60-250mm F4 ED [IF] SDM??

-Does somebody know when this lense is in stores?
-And wich one of these 2 do u recommend:
SMC Pentax-DA* 50-135mm F2.8 ED [IF]
or
SMC Pentax-DA* 60-250mm F4 ED [IF] SDM

Later one has more usefull zoom range, but other has f2.8.
Damn its difficult decision=D

Hi Pexi,
When: who knows? It's supposed to be released last year, then in January. Now it's March (if I'm not mistaken).
Depends what you shoot more.
As for campare: not enough data.
Also, don't forget a price difference.
If you willing to wait and pay extra $$, buy 2 of those and send 1 to me; I'll play with it and give it back, honestly, maybe.
Good luck,

Well, since you didn't tell us what you'll use them for, I'll use the scientific method to figure out which lens is best. To achieve that, I'll take the average focal length and divide by max aperture, so:

50-135mm = (50 + 135) / (2 * 2.8) = 33.0
60-250mm = (60 + 250) / (2 * 4) = 38.8

Clearly, the 60-250 is 17% more awesome so get this one.

This is a great way to quantify "lens awesomeness." I guess that makes the DA* 300 f/4 the best Pentax lens available! Awesomeness factor = 75!

Actually I think it may go to the FA 600mm F/4. Awesome factor is almost off the chart!

Wow, a pitiful awesome factor of only 3.75. They should give it away for a score like that!

I forgot to tell that im looking a lens for landscape and animal(birds) photography.
Well, i have thought that would i first buy Da*50-135mm,
and then save some money and buy Da*300mm.
Do you think that is a good decision?

Or should i just buy 60-250mm? Then i wont need but only one lens..
Aah this is too difficult=D

(ps. sorry about my BAD english, im from finland and i havenīt spoked much english before)

We have the 60-250 here in SA.

I cannot justify it's price - it is almost twice as expensive as the 50-135

R 11000 vs R 18 000.

Personally I would buy the 50-135 & the Pentax 1.7 TC
