Interesting...

The new sigma 18-250 wide to long tele will offer lens based stabilization for both Pentax and Sony mounts. (if this article in Pop photo is accurate)

The article even suggest (at least to me) that it may be possible to have both in camera and in lens IS turned on at the same time.

The DPReview news post also said the same thing...

and certainly, there's no reason for the SR and IS to be both on - they're independent of each other anyway.... whether or not it would actually be useful to have them both on is a different matter...

I watched a video on DC Resource where they tested this. The in-body and lens stabilization cancel each other out, and can't be used together. I can't find the video now, but it left no doubt about this.
