Testshots Helios-44M-4

Yesterday, the mailman brought a carton box with an old Zenit camera with an attached Helios-44M-4 (serial number 89294889). Bought on Ebay (7.95 Euros = 10.28 USD, ex. delivery (which was actually more than the price of the lens+camera)) after some threads here showing the quality of this lens. Next shots are made with the lens wide open (f/2), under very poor light conditions and handheld. Some noticeable noise in the third one (ISO 1600)

#1: (ISO400, 1/8 sec)

#2: (ISO400, 1/15)

#3: (ISO1600, 1/60 sec)

#4: (ISO400, 1/10 sec)

EDIT: I was thinking I posted this thread in the "Post your photos" section.....Sorry for misposting....

Thats looks like my helios... love this lens!

They look a little underexposed, but it is probably this work laptop... everything is looking dark today.

No, they are underexposed, you're right! But the light was crappy, these were my first test ones with this lens, and these photos came right out of the box... I love this lens too, despite (?) its cheapness. It can be tack sharp, even wide open, and I like the colours. Bought it because you had a thread here.... Thanks

Yeah, but with the chance of increasing prices after Gus showed some really good results, I had to lay my hands on this one.... But seriously, I think this lens is very good, and for those prices really a bargain. Af far as price/quality ratio is concerned, I guess this is one of the best you can get (apart from those you got for free of course, they have an infinite p/q ratio....)

Yes, for sure, but after some time one needs another level of SR....
