But using the green button isn't exactly the auto exposure metering. Auto exposure is IMO only possible with PKA mount lenses (and newer of course).
If you mean the camera causes the lens to stop down at exposure time you are correct. I meant metering after manually stopping down. My bad.

Oh, yes of course. I didn't understand you, because when I manually stop down the lens, I never use a green button. I just manually set the speed and then look at the exposure...

We did understand each other now...

Thanks for the compliment.

The prime is left wide open all the time, the base lens controls the aperture (and DOF). Closing the prime's aperture has no effect on DOF, it just decreases the size of image the base lens can "see". 24mm already had black corners, so cropping was needed.
