Jay, it's good to see you back in the saddle with a K20D. I was thinking of you today while I was standing on a dock on a lake taking some pics (I put Spike in the truck, just in case and nobody else was there).

Got lucky and caught the light just perfect on this one:

Here's that shot, no PP:

great deal on 77mm, with a catch...

Just couldn't pass this up, and just ordered from ProDigital (eBay) the FA-77mm Ltd with the 30 MS Cash Back, and that means new w/warranty for only $385. But, if you read all the way to the bottom it says the seller will not accept returns on this item; however, the five-day return is in affect for defects etc, so I'm guessing this means they won't accept returns except for manufacturer/mechanical issues?

I would say unless the manufacturer/mechanical issues are found with 5 days, you'd have to send it back to Pentax to fix. I've bought the k20d, 12-24 and DA*50-135 from them. The only thing that bummed me out is that I was unable to get the extended warranty on the k20d because I bought from Prodigital. I bought it about 4 days before the promotional extended warranty was offered. Win some, lose some I suppose. At the time though (Oct 14) $700.00 with second day air to my doorstep was a great deal on the k20d. One I couldn't pass up.
$385.00 for a 77 ltd is unheard of! That is quite a deal at almost half what I paid for mine.

They use a third party checkout, so the MS Cashback does not work with them. Are you sure it was ProDigital in Canada you were able to use it with? Did you confirm you will get the cashback?

You can pay directly with PayPal instead of using their checkout.

Is the cashback instant now or not? I hear it both ways.

ProDigital

I have purchased several lenses from them, and last night decided to go for the DA 31 Ltd. I made an offer lower than their BIN price which they accepted. I have never had a problem with their products or services.

I was unable to get MS cashback from ProDigital when I was looking to buy the 31 Ltd, which is a shame as I would have saved an extra $100 or so (I ended up buying from a more expensive US store).

As for the 77 Ltd, if that's the price you paid, it is CRAZY!. I paid $550 for a local, used, almost-mint copy and was extremely happy (still am), but $385 is simply ridiculous...

Was that $385 out the door or do you have to wait for MS to send you a check in 6-8 weeks?

BJ, cashback takes 60 days to hit your Microsoft cashback account, then I've been told it takes almost 2 weeks to move to your PayPal account. After that, you can transfer it to your bank account or spend it on more lenses

I made the mistake recently of thinking that Prodigital was not eligible for the cashback, and I left a good amount of money on the table because of it. Early in the promotion, they weren't eligible, but I guess they realized they were losing sales, so worked something out. So if you do it properly, you can now get the cashback from Prodigital. If you are lucky enough to get one of the ebay/paypal 10-15% off coupons, then combined with the 25-30% cashback and Prodigital's crazy prices, their deals are unmatched right now, and frankly any time in recent memory.

So it seems the MS cashback on ProDigital only works for listings only in U.S. dollars on a buy it now at their asking price and it takes 60 days to be able to get it and another 14 days to be able to transfer it to your PayPal account and another few days for it to pot to your bank account.

Still a good deal I think. They are good people. I have bought from them before.

all my lenses are from PD2K. they're a bit slow but everything's legit.
no refunds because they cost money to do, by removing refunds they can cut the price a bit.

How about a black 43 Ltd

... for $283 with cashback, including shipping from Prodigital?

Yikes!

This madness MUST STOP! I don't have much disposable income right now, but DAMN, LBA is hitting me hard.

Let's see . . . house . . . lens . . . house . . . lens. Maybe I can do without food for a while?
