Quite the old lens but i can say 90% of my shoots as well as income were from this lens since the range was perfect for my usage. However after seeing some of the newer lenses like the Pentax 55-300 in action, realized the 28-105 is optically outdated. Even more so on the K20D.

so other then change technique to accomodate the 55-300, does anyone know if there are plans for a new version of this lens?

Have emailed Tamron but still waiting for reply.

I am looking at the Sigma 17-70 f/2.8-4.5 or the 24-70 f/2.8 but they arent that new either or have adequate range for my purposes.

Good afternoon. I found the lens: signed Tamron 28-105 IF for Pentax, but I doubt whether it really is a Tamron 28-105 AF IF - 179D model whose description I found on the https://picasaweb.google.com/116830692549057644751/Tamron?authuser=0&authkey...eat=directlink - and whose looking for. I do not want to blend into something else. Perhaps someone with users met with such a lens, or know of a link to a web page containing information about the lens? Yours. David Bittner
