I blame GUS!!

Now look what you have done. I was jealous of your pretty new acquisition and was compelled to make a deal for her older sister!!

Vivitar 135/2.8 (M42)

$30 at the local camera repair place

She may be older, but not a scratch of blemish on her...

Steve

(With the ribbed-style grip, it almost looks like a new Zeiss or Voigtländer...)

Komine lens, also. And it does look like a Zeiss!

Congrats, can't beat that.

55mm filters. I did a few quick shots of an Elmer's glue bottle to check sharpness and it does not disappoint. The overall sharpness is better than my Jupiter-9 and on the same order as my XR Rikenon 50/2 or Pentax-M 50/1.7. I will have to do some real shooting with it this weekend.

This was almost all of it a year ago. So let me reflect on what's changed since...

Or maybe I better not...

three more 28's, a 21, a 105, a three more screw mount cameras with 50mm lenses, a handful of teles, another TLR, a box camera, a vivitar plasticam, another lens for the Fed that didn't make it to this photo... a couple of flashes... and flash triggers...

So you see, the cheap photo stuff habit is entirely under control.
OMG!!! And my lovely wife is raising hell at me about buying 7 Taks + 2 Pentax 50mm for less than $200 total. Hate to see what she would do if I had your collection.

I think it is infectious - truly.

But now I'm cured
jsherman999, actually I can rationale this quite easily................................

you see its all in the interpretation. Cured (Oxford Dictionary): yes, it says "remedy; healing treatment" etc.....but it also says "preserve by various processes"

So, in fact mate, you can say you / we are proudly cured. We are preserving the legend by the process of buying....another lens

So the message to anyone out there who really cares about the legend......is buy another lens.

..... this is my story, it works for me...and I'm sticking to it....

Cheers

This is practically Zen, thanks for this rationalization tool!

The good news is, you can reuse a lens. Wouldn't try that with booze.

well, so far I have to say it's about the same as my sears 135 MC. I was hoping it would be sharper. Maybe it needs more testing...

. . .

In fact, since the PayPal account has cash in it I couldn't resist the temptation and bought a Spotmatic F & SMC T55/1.8 from Chris Platt. Like I needed a screwmount KX !!!

I thought you picked up a K2 from Chris as well.
