At some point I ended up with a Tamron-F 35mm f/2.8 - this is a fixed mount (not adaptall) sold in the 70s. The lens has an interesting combination of characteristics, though overall it isn't one of the Great Designs Ever. (More samples are in this thread already.)

One of the characteristics is the bokeh. I got rather carried away so the second photo is not what a sane person would call sufficiently in focus. Perhaps the tip of one flower just makes it

@georgweb - I like that I'm being credited with helping to feed your lens addiction. I've found that while it is a decent lens on digital my Seimar 135 is more interesting on film. I think part of that might be from having the edges cropped off since that seems to be where some of the more interesting lens quirks show up. At least the price was reasonable for your 35mm.

I can't remember why I didn't post them earlier but here are 2 more shots from the same roll of film as before. Pentax KX, Fuji Superia 400, Seimar 135mm f/2.8 stopped down a bit because of the max shutter speed being limited to 1/1000.

Now that I have a (slightly backfocusing) split prism screen in my K10d I'm going to have to take my collection of odd M42 lenses out for a day of shooting.

I actually ended up with a Vivitar 50mm f/1.8 M42 mount lens - serial number starts with a 99 so it's past the regular who made it lists. I doubt it will see much action...

Another M/S 55mm

When the Mamiya/Sekor isn't busy making swirly bokeh, it renders like this

This Mamiya is a beaut... gotta get one I'm interested in producing swirly bokeh too. All my lenses seem to be of the well corrected variety

Based on a really long discussion (here or another group?) last year: get a cheap and cheerful tele converter and enjoy the corrections becoming ill

I think--depending on luck--old M42 lenses from the off-brands do have the swirly bokeh.
The TC idea, must explore also

Found this little beauty in my Dad's old camera gear, seeing as he didn't want it any more he donated it to me.

I'm waiting on the adaptor. The two first shots with the Ziess lens are with me holding the lens on the camera.

Not having taken this lens out and about, I love it already. It's going to be my manual focus nifty fifty.

As per usual my desk needs a bit of a tidy.

My desk lamp needs a tidy as well.

That's a beautiful Tessar - I wonder if the Russian version is very different?

Here's another from the Vivitar 135/2.8 Komine, CVS ASA200 film, Program Plus

The adaptor ring came today.
Looking at the underneath of the lens it's made in DDR.

Some more shots with the Tessar.

I know the focus is a bit off but I think the bokeh it nice

A souvenir from a Scottish holiday.

It's subtle but I like it.

I think I'm hooked.

This is my new favourite lens.

Just found another M42 lens in my Dad's old kit. happy days.

So today's haul is a Hanimex 80-200 f4.5, a set of M42 macro tubes and a Prinz 2-3X tele converter.

So that a 200mm x 3 x 1.6 (crop sensor) = 960mm.
I'm just waiting for the moon.

Shot with a Tessar 50mm f2.8. Camera shake, sorry.

960mm

Finger prints.

Nice little close up with the Tessar 50mm and macro tubes.

@200mm.

I walked in a steady rain for 4 hours or so in Manhattan last Sunday. Wanted to pick up daughter's 120 film from Duggal on 23rd, ended up on Ave C on the lower East Side where I discovered this scene:

I was essentially shooting zone focus and only rarely re-metering. I just couldn't see with all the wetness.

Kodak BW400CN, Fujica ST605, Yashinon DX 35/2.8, and a red vintage Pentax strap.
