Heck no. It will give us a chance to re-convert you to Pentax.
Actually, the thought of picking up a cheap older Pentax body for the m42s has crossed my mind. As for switching back entirely, if it ever happens it won't be anytime soon. Selling all of my gear to switch to Canon was a pain in the butt.

I just PMed someone who has a SuperTak 55/1.8 for sale in the marketplace--I hope he hasn't already sold it, as I had a K55/1.8 before I sold all of my Pentax gear and loved it. Couple it with the $15 close-up filter (double element, I think)that I picked up earlier this week and I'll be a happy camper.

If you are anything like me, once you shoot for a while with the Canon and M42s, you'll find no reason (besides in-cam SR) to get that cheap extra body (unless you need a back-up) by another manufacturer. I find my Canon meters properly at all f/stops, I can use aperture priority mode or shoot in manual mode on the camera and flip the Auto/Manual switch on the lenses to stop down right before taking the shot quite easily.

I'm looking forward to some good cheap fun.
I did this once 42 years ago and wound up married.

Since I don't think I have had any input from someone using a M42 lens, please help me out here:

At least with this, if the fun wears off, I can always sell them. It's not quite that easy with a spouse.

I'm hoping that my adapter will be in the mailbox tomorrow when I get home from my trip, but if not, the hopefully Monday.

Hallo everyone, just thought of reviving this thread again...

Noel

I love this photo very very very beautiful.

Personnely I prefer to use K lenses, so I neglect my M42s

Mamiya Sekor 55/1.4 pre SX

Here are a few of the first test shots with this lens. I really like the range of qualities it offers. It's very sharp when stopped down just one click and not bad wide open , nice color and it's a bokeh monster. If you stumble across one of these pick it up , you will not be disappointed.

Thanks for the comment. Quite honestly your mini landscape above and Georgweb's recomendations were the reason I bought it.

Wow, that's a rare one! It looks very nice for portraits. Hope to see more shots from this gem.

I like them a lot. Your taste, the models, the lens and the light, all is OK.

Thanks for sharing !!!

What heavy is that lens !!! (I try the all chrome version). And what nice for portraits !!

Regards, Rino.

Thanks for the nice comments re: my pics made with the Enna Ennalyt 85mm f/1.5. I'm not 100% happy with them, but I want to use it with some better light (it's very cold, grey and snowy outside at the moment).

Anyway: there's more to come tomorrow. I hope to add a Sankyo Kohki Komura 85mm f/1.4 in M42 mount to my collection then. And somewhere next week a Canon 85mm f/1.2 S.S.C. Aspherical will follow.
