Hello, all. Just joined the forum today. I have a fairly extensive collection of M42 lenses from my film photography days, but as my workload as a health professional has grown exponentially over the years

Well, I guess my collection of lenses from the film days will, at a minimum, get me a much wider maximum aperature than the typical zooms that come on the KX camera packages out there.
all!
Just a little reality check:

Do you have a quality m42 arsenal, or do you just remember it that way? I pulled out an old Vivitar or two that I thought were simply fantastic, but that belong in the garbage.

Also, forget your preconceived notions of focal length and point of view as to your current lenses. You will have so much fun that the fact that your 28 is now acting like a 42 won't bother you at all, and if you're like me will still be using a 50 prime as your "normal" lens.

Finally, don't dis the 18-50 kit lens. There's a forum here, The Kit Lens Club, which shows the OUTSTANDING results it's capable of. And I guarantee you:

Give you and me a $1,000 prime and we couldn't match the artistry of most of them.

edit: That image doesn't do it justice.

Really loving this lens-so light weight and compact. It doesn't want to seem to come off my camera and let the Japanese lenses have any fun

CZ Biotar 75mm f1.5. They nicked the black bits on this one so no pretty zebra stripes.

Mark/Bluesman, that's a nice little lens and quite capable in your hands I see. What is the focussing like with this lens/camera combo ?

Here's another nice matchup, K100D + CZJ MC Sonnar 3.5/135. Flash is taped cause I never use it.

Well I've heard that Deutschland knew a thing or too about quality optics It's great to learn that first hand-loving my German glass. Focusing is ok by the 3rd day I'd say I was getting close to 90% sharp and good shots with almost no rejects. Originally I thought I'd rotate this with others using mainly the 50 still. This is my main lens without a doubt. I salute Herr Schacht and his pursuit of optical excellence. Like your equestrian contribution. Here is something that shows a little more of the Schacht's smooth color rendering and sharpness.

That's some nice glass and a great photo that displays this point.

Schacht Travenar 90mm

Here's a few more recent ones with the Lens. I'm loving this as my go to lens for people shots(meaning int's on my cam 99% of the time).

Thanks, Georg - I've never used an Enna, they look like good lenses. Is that a statue or a person?
