Here's one to hopefully complement Noel's beautiful shots from Mamiya Sekor SX 1.4/55,

Keep it up, Georg (the other)

I'm going to have to find a copy of this Mamiya! I imagine it would be great on a digital body as a portrait lens.

Hello,

Here you are some flowers taken with Pentacon 29mm f 2.8 MC Auto on my K10D, with only marginal corrections applied during the RAW conversion. I'd be curious about your comments. Personally never taken any shots with M42 lenses before and now being more and more sure to get rid of my AF equippment This little pentacon was about 20$. The reason for the "extremely high" price tag was probably that the lens was sold in "Brand New" condition...

That last photo, excellent bokeh and detail.

Nesster, that Soligor looks excellent, maybe better on film than on digital.

Maybe that's true also for Buksikoma's Pentacon, but then you get the corners cut on digital and that's rather beneficial for this lens imo.

John's Oreston might be f/1.8 and not f/1.7 ? The 135mm Westromat looks excellent.

There was the long book night the other day in an area with lots of book stores and galleries and stuff. Here's a mobile guy reading in the street that night.

M42 MC Zenitar-ME1 1.7/50 @f/2 on K100D

Found one more twist of this lens, which has a two blade aperture. When at f/2 the opening is neither symmetric nor straight-lined, so you're getting those fancy oval shaped highlights. See a pic of the aperture at f/2 here

Best, Georg (the other)

Thanks all for the kind comments on the Mamiya Sekor SX.
From the last few posts, it seems the Jena lenses(tessar and pentacon) do produce some wonderful colours too!

Ok here's another from the Mamiya 55mm

Here are some sample photos from a Mamiya Sekor 50mm f/2, the kit lens off of my father's Mamiya Sekor 500 DTL. After it died he bought a Spotmatic SP and SMC 55mm f/1.8 as a replacement so this lens probably hasn't been used in about 35 years. The build quality is pretty good and the A/M is easy to get at for switching between focusing and metering/shooting.

The bokeh on this one is so cool! especially the blueish portion just above the subject. Mamiya M42s, way to go!

Nice colour, I like very much.

I only curious its "bokeh" is a bit fuzzy. Does it happen on other lens at about the same focal lens. My Pentacon 135,.2.8 & 200,4 (auto, m42) create better bokeh. Look more natural.

Cheers,
RTogog
