Sigma 20mm f1.8 is a big lens. The broken version of canon mount is now my book stand. Very sleek looking stand too

Definitely a lens to look out for, at least in comparison to what Pentax already offers. I suppose the focus feel and throw will be a major factor in its acceptance.

You can get the DA21 for the same price, if it sells for $379. If that's the case, I'd much rather have the AF option, and the slightly faster maximum aperture. This lens really doesn't look attractive when pitted against the DA21, in my opinion. I've really been impressed with the IQ of the DA21. I think I'll keep mine, and spit on any Voigtlander I see.

I'm torn between the DA21 and this new Voigtlander. I don't really see the advantage to AF on such wide lens at such a slow aperture. I'd probably end up using either focused at infinity for most of the time anyways.

The one thing pulling me over to the Voigtlander is that I could still use it on older film bodies and if Pentax ever releases a larger-than-APSC sensor, the Voigtlander would still work. I'd be limited to cropped digital Pentax bodies if I went with the DA21.

You can choose not to like VL 20mm f3.5 ...

But spitting on this lens is a little too pre-mature when this lens is not yet even released...

You would never know when you might start to appreciate certain quality of this prime.

sorry yes thats AUD... That puts it only just above the 40/2 and 58/1.4 from mainline.. so my 'guess' is the US price will be maybe US$400, based on cameraquest selling the other 2 at US$375.. we will see...

The aussie dollar sucks at the moment so no real advantage for us to by from America at this point..

I have yet to be disappointed by any of the Voigtlander lenses so I have sent my $100 to Stephen Gandy to reserve my copy. I have been looking for a wide angle and this will fit the bill perfectly. It'll be great for both my film and digi Pentax's.

Nice...I love the look, feel, and rendering of my voigtlander 58mm and this lens will probably be my next purchase. There really aren't any available 20mm full frame lenses for Pentax...the 20mm takumars and and M 20mm's seem to be scarce and this lens seems to fill that void perfectly.

Don't forget the new Zeiss Distagon 21mm F2.8, if it's as good as the old one. It will be a super performer
