i know takumar, but about this 200 f4, there is a real difference between:
- Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 200m f/4 lens
- Super-Takumar 200m f/4 lens

???

Hello Gemini,
if you don't bother a 1 kilo lens you might consider the Jupiter 21M 200/f4.
I have done some shots with one stuck wide open, so these are all wide open,

You should get this lens for under 50 dollars. This means it will not beat a modern variant of a 200/4 lens for the big bucks, but it is really usable from wide open.
Best, Georg (the other)

The two lenses have the same optical design. The only difference is coatings. I have the SMC 200 as well as several Super Takumar lenses. The Super Takumar flare and contrast performance are not quite as good as the SMC versions but still very respectable. I would expect the 200 Super Takumar to be a fine lens.

A long-shot alternative is the Vivitar Series 1 200/3.0. It was made in screwmount but is fairly rare. I bought a K-mount one new in 1980. Still use it occasionally although I haven't shot it wide open for a long time. Originally bought it for shooting hockey under poor light. As I recall its wide open performance was very fine.

The Vivitar 200mm f3.5 by Komine is fairly common and inexpensive on eBay. It's about 650 grams, takes a 62mm filter, has an integral hood and 8 aperture blades. It's sharper wide open than the Pentax-M 200mm f4. It has some CA, typical for lenses of its age. Minimum focus distance is 6 feet. The focus ring turns opposite of the Pentax direction.

As others have said, Vivitar 200 f/3.5 (Komine) is a great lens, and I think there's
one of those for sale right nw in the marketplace also.

S-M-C Tak 200 f/4 is my 1st choice, still:

I have the Super Multi Coated Takumar 200mm F4, and love it..

A few samples from my first outing with it...The gorilla shots are through glass, so not as sharp as they could be.
