Go for it. The 1.7 versions of the 50mm lenses are very highly regarded here. however if you are bidding on ebay expect the price to skyrocket in the last few minutes of the auction.

agree with Gus, I want to see pics...
btw: you can't go wrong with 50/1.7. I got lucky and manged to get F50/1.7 for next to nothing (I exchanged it for another lens at the end of October 08, and the guy is still trying to sell my old lens ), and it's great performer,
I'm sure you'll enjoy it

Good evening good folks!

I got the lens and to my suprise it was better then mint condition
I would say that if it wasn't for a little scrach on the cap-cover I would have thought it was brand new

Picts are comming!! calm down hahaha
The problem is that here in sweden we still have very dark days, so I haven't been able to try it out in good light. (working when we have day-light 8-17).

And yes, of course 1.7f makes it posible to shot in low light, but I prefer aperture step downed a bit (4, 5,6f) and be able to post some real great picts.

Nightscenes at 1,7f is somewhat a little bit soft, and dark haha. Today on my luch-break i will go out and shoot a bit.

One question:
the auto-spot metering are not supposed to work right? (i knew that before bought it) I am almost 99% sure, but i just wanted to ask to fill out the last 1%

Thank you so much for your help guys!

Best Regards Emil

spot and center weighted will work. careful of the exposure problems with m (stopped down metering) lenses (need to compensate some times).

have fun, a greta lens you got there
