The fast Pentax lens I have seen is the K/A 50 f/1.2. I'm not sure if there are any 3rd party lenses that are faster that will work on a Pentax body.

You are correct, there is nothing faster, but there are 55mm f/1.2 lenses from 3rd party vendors, but none that are modern autofocus.

You can still purchase the A 50/1.2 new from Japan. Or at least I was able to last summer.

well I guess to keep the lenses small they have to be a little slower. not that I ever need more then F/1.4

Fastest available to buy new? I think that's the FA50 1.4, isn't it? Is the new DA*55 1.4 available widely yet?

Fastest ever and available used if your lucky (or maybe still new from Japan?) would be the A50 1.2 I think

What is the fastest lens? You should see that in context of the focal length. So the FA/A 85/1.4 is as fast as the 50/1.2 (half an f-stop slower, but again even a bit more than 50% longer). Another extraordinary lens (third party) is the Astro-Berlin Tachar 150/1.8, which was available for Pentax, too. Or of course the FA 400/2.8 (I wish, I had one...)
