Estudleon, the portraits are shot at F2 for the B&W and F4 for the color one. It is the Helios-44M... as I said I also have the 44-2 now, but I prefer the 44M because it sits on the camera better and it has the A/M switch that allows you to focus wide open for more light and then slide the switch to your F pre-set to meter. The later versions -4 thru -6's do not have the A/M switch but they are said to be a bit sharper and the -6 for sure has Multi-coating.
Wilkin the macro converter I used on those shots was a M42 vivitar converter, but I also have some very nice shots with just a simple raynox 250 clip on... I would recommend the raynox 250 or 150 as they are usable on almost all of my lenses.
The Raynox 150 is probably a more usable lens, a little less magnification but more Depth of Field.
