Ordered a new lens ...

I just recently ended up selling my Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 Macro lens, making my recently purchased DA*50-135mm my widest lens I wanted something wider than the Sigma so I was originally looking at the DA* 16-50 to replace it because I love both my DA* 50-135 and DA* 300. I know that particular lens has QC problems but I'm hooked on the DA* line. Then I read about how great the 12-24mm f/4 is so it was a big toss up between those two lenses. In the end I finally ordered the 12-24mm f/4. Hopefully I'll like the quality and it'll be fast enough for my shooting style. If it doesn't work out I guess I can always sell it and get the DA*16-50 without losing too much money

I've already spent $1300 on two lenses in only a month and half ... someone stop me

The 12-24 is easily wide enough to encompass *all* your wideangle needs. I've used the Tokina F-mount version and it's oodles of fun to use. Good IQ as well.

Now how about a DA 10-17 Fishy?

I wouldn't recommend a fisheye lens as your only wide-angle lens lower than 50mm. I have the 16-50mm and besides that I lost it in the ground and tI now only have 28-50 I love it. Gonna get a new copy of this lens as soon as my insurance company gets working on it.

You're gonna like it!

That 12-24 is one neat little lens. The colors seem richer and more contrasty with it, blue skies look even "bluer" (is that a word?), and landscapes turn out beautifully with it. And even at 12mm, IMO it has less distortion than the DA*16-50 does at 16mm. My bet is, you'll enjoy it, you will NOT sell it, and we'll be seeing you on the forum again soon with LBA for something to fill the gap!

I was doomed when I picked up the DA*300 late last year. I may eventually end up getting the DA*16-50 in the future and I have my eye on the DA*200 as well.

I'd love to have that fisheye lens but I don't think I'd want it as my only wide-angle lens. Maybe in the future after I'm done acquiring the five lens kit I'm trying to build

I really do hope it outperforms my expectations. You're right though, I may eventually end up getting the DA*16-50 anyway to fill the gap. I was hoping to get away with the 12-24 and buy the 31mm f/1.8 to fill the gap to my 50-135mm. I'll have to wait and see if the 12-24 does it for me!
