Sigma 24-60?

I'm using a 43mm Ltd and a Tamron 90mm on my K100, but think I'd like a good fast medium telephoto for general use. What's the general experience with the Sigma 24-60, and comments if that's a good fit with the existing lenses?

Let me google that for you

Sorry, couldn't resist.

I have it, and it's on my camera most of the time, unless I have a more specialized need or desire.

I think it tends to flare a bit more than some other lenses, but in terms of sharpness and color, I think it's fantastic, and it was a good bargain too.

Some have noted some QC issues (front/back focusing) with theirs, but with my K20D I can dial in exactly the correction my copy needs.

I understand from prior threads it has been discontinued, and that explains the deep discounts that were available for a while last year. It sold for $200 then but I don't know what it's going for now.

Funny, I did a search on this Forum for Sigma 24-60 and it turned up nada; next time I'll try your way. And thanks for the feedback on the lens, Adorama is selling it for $349,

Brian, just so you know, that lens is discontinued by Sigma, they have a 24-70 now which is a lot more expensive. The 24-60 was $200 up until a few months ago when they discontinued it, now prices are high because there is limited stock left and it is a well thought of lens. I kept putting off getting one and the day I decided to pull the trigger, there were none available and I'm too cheap to pay more for it even though it is probably worth it.
