That is a beautiful analogy...

I would love to borrow a portion of it for describing my Helios 44M... with your permission of course

The FA77 is a wonderful lens, and just feels good to hold. Well built, and just a nice piece of craftsmanship. I'm probably the only idiot here that sold his.

Yeah, I had the FA77 and the DA*50-135, and I found that I was too lazy to switch to the FA77 and instead just used the DA*50-135. So, I sold the FA77 to a good home.

Note, I'm not saying the 50-135 is better (or as good as) the 77 Ltd, but for my purposes, the 50-135 was good enough that I just wasn't using the 77 Ltd enough.

Still, I'd say you need that 77 Ltd.

And for your viewing pleasure, an absolutely unedited and unprocessed shot taken tonight with the 77mm Limited @ f2.4, 1/90s, camera flash, hand held, standing on a chair, and most definitely not drunk.

There is no right and wrong with the choice between Da* 50-135 and Fa 77 ltd. After all, choose what you will use for your application of photography

I have the FA*85 f1.4 - an absolutely glorious piece of glass.

Do I need the FA 77? I guess not
Do I want the FA 77? Too bloody right I do

I own both now....the 77 is the out and about lens while the 85 I use for indoors.

Same situation arises after buying the 77.....

I have already the FA28, FA35 and DA*16-50

Do I need the FA 31? Not really
Do I want the FA 31? Bites the hand off the man from SRS

So.... Yes, you do want the FA 77, and treat yourself to a nice bottle of whiskey (Penderyn is my nomination) as well

Great pic; do you think you could draw out nearly the level of DOF with the DA 70mm wide open?
