LBA - Da 70mm f2.4 Ltd

I bought this lens on Saturday during my group outing. The buying process was a little odd where the saleswoman refused to sell me this lens because I am not buying a UV filter. The worst thing was that she commented on this lens being esoteric and "rare", contorting her face as she was constipated.

So I bought it from another shop where the assistant was more pleasant and friendly. At least, I was not being treated as a scam.

Besides its optical performance deserving its limited reputation, what I want in this lens is its size and autofocus speed. It did make my street shots more pleasant...

Funny thing is that I had criticised this lens quite a lot due to the fact that I had seen my friends revealing this lens weakness to me. However, this lens is really selling for its compact size with that faster and more reliable autofocus speed...

In a day's worth, autofocus speed can earn me a few more shots

There're photographic stores in Aus that sell Limited lenses?

LIAR!

Love the BW one. Love the depth in the shots, especially numbers 1 through 3. Never seen a Canon L lens pull that sort of 3-dimensionalism.

Weaknesses in the DA 70? Can't say I've noticed any in mine or yours from what I see above.

Nice shots!

Yeah, what's the weakness in the DA 70ltd? It's not as fast maybe, but bejeezzus
it's got everything else going for it.

Yet another lens that I lust for (along with the FA43). Only the 50-135 keeps me from buying this lens for portrait use.

I just love this lens for the portrait work it does. It not only gives you and your model enough space between you two, it's very forgiving to those who are not models as well.

Thanks everyone. LBA has kicked in for me and it is not funny.

This lens is going to be my companion for street. Really non-intimidating. Seriously, this is a set up that I want to have - smaller the better!

In fact, the major ones along Elizabeth street all have Da 70mm ltd but not Da 21mm ltd.

The problem is that these camerastore staff need plenty of prompting and guidance to get to the pentax lenses. A lot of them are dementing in the store with verbal disinhibition...

As you can see, the DA70 has something special, it makes people in front of it act in wacky or cute ways. The photographer's eye-rays going through it are especially well resolved - many lenses simply destroy these, leaving the photographer very little mental control over the subjets.

But more seriously, the DA70 is instantly cheerful and very resolute indeed.

Beautiful and interesting shots.

I'd be a fool not to mention I'm selling one in the marketplace for $400 shipped. I agree, it is a superb, superb lens. But I'm gonna have to live with the 55-300 for now--it's tax season.

Great lens for a great photographer. I particularly love the shot of the guy with the kangaroo hat and Mazda coat - blue color is perfect.

The DA 70 is one of my favorite lenses - I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine.
