Auto Kentar Lens?

Hi All,

Just wonder if anyone here has any experience or know anything about Kentar lenses? I got this one along w/ my newly purchased MX camera:

The lens seems to be very well built, better than those Sigma MF lenses during that time. As a 35mm F2.8 manual lens, it seems to be quite big (bigger than our M35/2). I only got chance taking a couple of testing shots, seems pretty sharp wide open. But haven't done any serious shooting w/ it yet.

Wonder if anyone here ever used a Kentar brand lens? I'm guessing it's made by some Japanese company like those Vivitar lenses

I've never heard of Kentar, but when you get some pictures you want to share, I am sure they would be appreciated in the "Off-brand Club" thread. There are so many well-built, good-quality lenses out there with odd-sounding names. It is good to see some effort being made to use and appreciate them.

Steve

(Took another look...that appears to be a VERY well-built little lens...)

I tried to google Kentar lens, but couldn't find much info about this brand. I'll see if I can put it in a good test over the weekend

Any first impressions already? Somebody here is just selling one of these and I wanted a 35mm to play with, but of course something with reasonable quality...
Or are you actually the one selling it in Singapore after all?

Thanks frank for the lens. It is top class and good build quality. Very well corrected and the colours are great. I found this lens is also branded as a Super Travenar.
