New FA31 F1.8 = first pictures...

I just received my FA 31F1.8 this week and shoot my first photos with it. I am thrilled with the lens from every point of view. The built is so nice. The balance on the K20D is great. The sharpness and IQ is excellent. It just feels like you are taking pictures. I would almost consider buying a film camera to try it on with B&W films.

Well here they are:

This one is a heavy crop thanks to the K20D sensor.

the first thing I'm going to do when I get mine is Grab my LX and run some Ilford Pan F 50 ( I expose this stuff at 25 to knock off the contrast) through it!

Thanks to Luc, over the weekend I was able to briefly put my hands on his 31mm. We were indoors so I didn't get to really test the lens out but in that brief moment, I now know why it's such a prized lens.

Metallic cold, nice hefty feel, and silky smooth focus ring; he had a black one and I can only imagine how much nicer (personal pref, of course) the silver one must be.

However, since I picked up his DA 21mm, I've just set myself back that much farther from my goal of ever owning one...

Thank you all.

Jeff,

Thanks for the purchase it helps.
You already have the 43mm that is a first step....
so one year of saving or selling your FA*24mm and you will be very close to the 31mm.

Cheers,

Luc
