Hello,
I just bought a nice 50mm SMC 1.7 off ebay. I thought Pentax k20d's could use any Pentax lens.

Mine won't work. As soon as the lens is fully attached, the camera blanks out and won't take any photos! It will take photos with my modern manual lens, and without any lens attached, but not with my 50mm SMC 1.7 off ebay.

What's wrong? I thought vintage lenses worked!

I tried every mode, especially the green and aperture mode, but nothing works. It won't take a picture, and it just blanks out.

Please help.

You have to allow using aperture ring in the options menu and shoot in Manual mode; use the green button to automatically set the exposure.
