I doubt I will be disappointed, I already own the FA77mm Ltd and I know how much of a stellar lens that is. I have a 50mm f/1.2 - I'm not bothering with getting the 43mm Ltd it's too close to 50mm. but I'm sure as hell getting the 31mm Ltd...I haven't seen a lens that beats it, the canon 35mm f/1.4L can't touch it!

I would look into what kind of teleconverters are available for the Sigma 300mm f2.8 and your 70-200mm f2.8 zoom. If Sigma has a good 1.4x TC that works on both lenses, the 50-500mm is almost redundant. A much cheaper option is the Sigma 100-300mm f4 with TC, and that would preserve zooming ability.

Yeah when I was debating getting the 50-500 a couple of years ago, the 70-200 2.8 + TC was one of the options I considered instead... in the end I liked the huge range the 50-500 offered. In reality that zoom range is much better served by carrying a couple of lenses... old Bigma just doesnt do it for me.

I am now close to pulling the trigger on the 300 F4 and the 31 ltd... although I am now debating on maybe the 31 and 77 ltd.

I also discovered that my memory is failing and my mid zoom is a Tamron 28-75 f2.8. I do not use it much because I have had issues with its sharpness on the 28mm end.

The Pentax 12-24 otoh has always been tack sharp. Man this is getting complicated
