Help me spend my tax refund

So my annual zero interest loan to the US Govmt has been returned to me. I will be honest and tell you that for the last few days I have been extremely tempted to take all my Pentax gear in and trade it for a Canon 5dII. I seem to have gotten over that momentary lapse of judgement and I have now decided to get some new glass for the k20d and and Epson 3800 printer.

Here is what I have:

Pentax Zoom Super Wide Angle SMCP-DA 12-24mm f/4 ED AL (IF) Autofocus Lens
Pentax SMCP-DA 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AL II (the kit lens, doesnt even stay in my bag)
Pentax Zoom Normal-Telephoto SMCP-DA* 50-135mm f/2.8 ED (IF) (brand new to me)
Sigma Zoom Wide Angle-Telephoto 24-70mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro DF
Sigma Zoom Normal-Telephoto 50-500mm f/4-6.3 EX DG Autofocus
Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 II EX DG APO Macro HSM AF

What I am thinking about getting (instead of the new Canon) and probably selling the 50-500
Sigma 300mm f2.8
Sigma | 300mm f/2.8 EX DG Autofocus Lens for Pentax | 195109
and
Pentax limited 31mm f1.8
Pentax | Wide Angle SMCP-FA 31mm f/1.8 AL Limited | 20290 | B&H

or the 300 f2.8 and a
Zeiss MF 25mm f2.8

The 50-500 is just not doing it for me. It is just too large a zoom to inspire much confidence to use when the shot is really critical. It has gotten good reviews online but I always question its output.

The zeiss would just fulfill a longtime desire to own some Zeiss glass.

Not sure how I ended up with a stable full of zooms after I sold off all my primes for my 645 NII

Thoughts

Wow, first post with all that to share with us...
Welcome, and well done for sticking with Pentax - you would have gotten a lot less Canon stuff with the money you spent. But where's your DA* 16-50 and FA 77 ltd?

Have you considered the FA* 300 or even DA* 300 (if cost is an issue, but it doesn't sound like it is...)?

Well I am a US Marine,,, so cost is always an issue I was looking at the DA*300, I guess I have always wanted a big 2.8 tele Am I wasting a lot of money for not enough payback on the Sigma?

I was considering the 77 ltd as well,, ,but I have that range pretty well covered with zooms right now... maybe in the near future.

sorry about all the details on the lenses.. I cut an pasted from BH on the descriptions for a non-photo forum where we discuss photography a lot.

So for less cash I can get the DA* 300 f4, the 77 limited, the 31 limited. I just cant see needing another zoom at this point.

Man I just cant seem to get my mind off of that 300 2.8.

Any thoughts on whether the 300 2.8 would give me better results with a 1.4 converter than I am currently getting with the Bigma?

Have a look at this forum's lens database for Sigma's 300/2.8 - certainly impressive but do you really need that extra stop of speed?

The FA* 300 is also f/2.8 but it's also on par with the Sigma for price (maybe more...)

This is a toughy because you have it all covered with the zooms. I think you're on the right track getting a high quality prime, but which one or two?
I would seriously consider what focal lengths I shoot the most and where are my weakest links in my zoom ranges and fill that hole. If affordable for you the 31/1.8 is a no-brainer if you will use the focal length. I understand your desire for the Zeiss, if it's something you've wanted for a long time and can now afford it, go ahead and get it, IF you will use it!
I think it's cool you're in this position, you've earned it and I'd love to see you get something that will make you happy.
I have two kids in the service (the Air Force). You guys are covering our backs and I appreciate it.
Good luck on this decision!

Although slower, remember the DA* 300/4 is weather sealed, it is truly an incredible lens.......and it's weather sealed, like your K20D.

...and you won't regret it (or, at least, I'll be surprised if you do).

"Good things come in small parcels"

That's the FA, rather than the PM, although some would say both...

Can't speak for the DA*300 f4 (although I'd like to, because my old M42 SMC Takumar 300/4 is lovely but just so dim and heavy for lengthy hand-held work). I do have both the 31 and 77 limiteds, and, while I sometimes go back to zooms for their sheer practicality in some situations, the IQ of the prime lenses means I carry them as well, a lot of the time.
