I know this is a Pentax forum, but are there any other cameras that can successfully adapted to the takumar lenses? My wife has a 30D and a digital rebel. Also do these digital cameras similar to the film versions (manual settings), something similar to my Spotmatic?
Thanks.

I too have a copy of that lens, and I've only used it a bit (using the adapter that Peter mentioned above) - it's an amazingly sharp lens... I was blown away, maybe I'll shoot with it tomorrow. Anyway, here's some samples from my copy of that gem you found...

All shot wide open f/3.5 (I think)...

This is a 100% crop from a shot with this lens wide open - it's razor sharp!

I also have that, the Super and the S-M-C version. The differences are small. The S-M-C being the more contrasty one. The preset one being the most clear and crispy imho. And the preset Takumars is a joy to use.

With the way pre-A lenses act on my K10D, I think a preset would be ideal. It would take me a bit of time to get used to the stop down flick again, but I did it for nearly twenty years, so it should come back. It would make Av far more useful while still focusing wide open.
