Something like the 500mm f4.5 without AF.
I figure it will be on a tripod so not having AF is no biggie, it also might help keep the price down a bit.
With a super telephoto, AF is an absolute must in order to track, follow and lock focus due to the narrow DOF. More so than on a wide-angle imo.

Yes, I would love a 135mm focal length from Pentax too. If f1.8 version is going to be remade, the low contrast issue needs to be resolved. This lens is not usable til f2.8 and PF is quite a serious issue.

I should have kept the lens til today. Then I could sell it for a better price

Pentax should use the Canon 135mm f/2L USM or the Nikon 135mm f/2.0D DC Nikkor as the benchmark...

Huhh?? I had one of those once, and although it improves from stopping down (what lens this fast does not?), it was certainly very good. Wide open performance was good. Very good at F2.8. As good as they get at F:4...

Seems to be a popular lens when they come up for sale, besides i'm use to MF'ing my MF long glass.

I would love a DA 17-55 f/3.5-5.6 (or constant f/4, if possible) with weather-sealing.
I also agree that a 135mm limited would be great, and a very logical next step after the super-wide 15mm. It would probably have to be f/3.5 or f/4 to keep the same compactness that the limiteds are famous for.

Actually that might be a bit low. I just checked Ebay and found a used A* 135/1.8 costs around $2,100.

http://cgi.ebay.ca/Pentax-A-135mm-f-1-8-ED-Lens-135-f1-8-SMC-A-Star_W0QQitem...1%7C240%3A1318

Might have to add another $1,000 for an AF version.

Looked at Dimitrov's site, to see what was made before-
I think they need to reissue/remake these (ok I wish for, not need)
35mm 1.4 (AF or MF)
50mm 1.2 AF
85mm 1.4 (AF or MF) or 85mm 1.8 or 85mm 2.0
120mm 2.8
135mm 1.8
200mm 2.5

I'll settle for the 1st three though.

Oh, while they're at it why not remake the FA Limited tres amigos with quick shift

Last edited by PentHassyKon; 03-21-2009 at 07:56 PM. Reason: added 85 1.8 and 85 2.0 and FA Limiteds with quick shift

In my opinion..

28-70 F/2.8 and make it DA* SDM.. It will be super awsome
20-35 F/4 and make it F/2.8 instead of F/4. Make it DA* SDM.. Double awsome..

Last one..

Remake of the DA*16-50 F2.8 (better copy) since I've had the same but it doesn't work well with K10D. I've returned it 3 times and still having the same problem: back focusing...
