The big thing that's missing, one of the ubiquitous focal lengths in film days, is the 28mm. I find it very strange that none are currently being made, and the same would apply with slightly less emphasis, to 24mm. We have two 35mm, 31mm (that is more like 32) and an upcoming 30mm but nothing in the once-popular range 24-28mm.

Pentax has a policy of releasing "equivalent" focal length lenses for digital, which is why we have a 55mm portrait lens to make up for the 85mm and a 35mm macro to replace the standard 50mm macro. Given this policy a 28mm still makes a lot of sense, since it is exactly equivalent to the magical 43mm on film.

So, yes, a DA28/2 makes sense no matter how you like to do your focal length math.

(The upcoming 15mm equates to 22.5mm, which is near to a 24mm replacement.)

A 500mm or 600mm tele lens of the mirror variety, something light and not too bulky for critter pics, and hopefully having dealt with CA and the other issues that cropped up with the mirror lenses. Add reasonably fast like f4.

24 or 25mm f1.2, f1.4 and f1.7, preferably full-frame. Not necessarily pancake-sized (but it would be a coup!), but not huge. Aspherical elements. 9 aperture blades, minimum.

35mm f1.2. And f1.4. And f1.7. Same as above.

10mm f4~4.5 or whatever. Rectilinear. Do whatever it takes to keep it that way.

Make them * lenses or whatever, but I'd be happy even if they weren't. In fact, I'd rather that the f1.4 and 1.7 lenses aren't * lenses.

Polycarbonate bodies, or at least filter rings.

I would want a current version of the 50mm f/1.2...make it a limited with screw drive AF, and ultra high build quality and a built in lens hood.

I would also like a reiteration of the FA*200mm ED macro and the FA 300mm f/2.8 and a new 450mm f/4 and a 14-35 zoom tilt shift lens - Pentax DID make a zoom fisheye lens, which isn't easy. Why not make a zoom tilt shift? one that had a switch that altered the limit of the shift and tilt movements for full frame and APS-C sensors. NOW that would be awesome! as long as it had decent image quality at f/5.6 and Limited build quality I would buy as soon as it hit the shelves here in OZ.

that would't be possible! I own a full frame voigtlander 35mm f/1.2 and it's HUGE and that's on a rangefinder camera that doesn't really need retrofocus designs.

besides even canon and nikon don't have that many focal lengths with only 1/3rd f stops between them...it's just wouldn't be economically viable

one can dream though.

The biggest thing that I would like to see is for Pentax to start offering two versions of their lenses -- one with weather sealing, one without. I don't really care about SDM, but I bet there are a lot of photographers who would grab a weather sealed lens for 50 bucks more than a non-sealed lens if it was available.

then make it f/1.2 :P but , really, pentax needs a standard ultra fast lens on APS-C. I would pay 1000+usd easily for that one, especially if it's a ltd.

um, there's already a 31mm f/1.8 and the difference between f/1.2 and f/1.8 is a stop at best.

though, f/1.2 lenses have a certain bragging rights attached to them.....
