This is the APS-C equivalent of Tammy's famous 90mm f/2.8 "macro portrait lens". If they keep the street price around $400 they will sell a ton of them to Pentax users. They'll need to make it in P/KAF mount first though

That's what I was thinking.

Ash -- I just looked at the Tamron website and they don't list Pentax mount. In the descrition for that auction, they say only available in Sony, Nikon and Canon mount.

I contacted Tamron last week regarding this lens and got this reply:

"Thank you very much for your interest in Tamron lenses! Unfortunately I am not aware of any current plans to release this lens for Pentax. If that ever changes in the future, any announcements will be made at Tamron.com.

Doesn't seem like much work to modify a mount...

As for the eBay ad - it's misleading:

I checked B&H and they only have the Canon mount version...for $570. A far cry from my requested $400!

Bearing in mind that the 90mm version is selling for $460, with a $60 rebate bringing it down to $400, I don't see why the hike in the 60mm. Sure, it's a stop faster, but it's also APS-C, which means less glass.

Maybe I need to get myself an Optical Engineering degree...
