How bad is your LBA?

We've had the same homepage poll for almost 3 months now, so I've decided to create a new one.

Should be fun

Was at 11 until I gave 2 lenses. Now down to 9. Will eventually trim down to 8 or 7 when I decide which 2 lenses to keep and which 2 will go.

I gave my friend a P3 + A50/2 + 135/2.8. Haha or my cabinent would be populated by even more lenses.

Yeah, I'm up to 10 in the 4 months since buying the K100D: I've bought 4 50's (A 2, A 1.7, two Super Tak 1.4's), sold one Tak and have the A 2 for sale. I've also bought three zooms (Promaster 28-70, FA 28-90, DA 18-55 -- I bought the K100D body only and had second thoughts later), a Takumar 28/3.5, and a Tamron 90/2.5 macro. Oh, and I have an FA 31/1.8 on the way.

Yep, bad LBA over here.

I've even ended up with three more film bodies because for some reason on ebay the cheapest, good lenses often come with cameras attached.

If we're talking strictly Pentax, I've got 7 - see my profile. Not a huge collection, but I got 3 of them in the last 6 months, which is a disturbing trend . I used to have two others - another A 50/2 (sold with my old P30t) and an FA 28-70/4 (victim of element separation, alas).
In non-Pentax glass, I have a Tamron 70-300 and a barely used Tokina 19-35 - haven't shot as much ultrawide as I thought I would.

I think LBA is quite serious in my case:

Within 3 Month I bought FA31, FA43, FA77, DA50-200, Sigma 17-70.
I ordered (not arrived): DA21 and Tamron 18-250.

This were expensive 3 months.

Regards from Cologne, Germany

I like to wait and look for deals on eBay as well as local classifieds and camera shops so I currently only have a handful of lenses. Aside from the 18-55mm kit lens, I purchased the Sigma 24-135mm f/2.8-4.5 when it was only $99 from Cameta and a Pentax-A 50mm f/1.7 for $30 on eBay. Just recently won a Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 200mm f/4 for just under $40 on eBay; don't really see any opinions/sample photos for this lens, but hope that's its decent. I also had a SMC Takumar 50mm f/1.4 which I sold - never used it since I never picked up an adapter; but my new purchase finally forced to me to buy one. Now I'll probably pick up some more screwmount lenses. And I'm really close to picking up the Zenitar FE as well ... But I think I'll try to hold off for now.

My LBA is a bit serious as well.

Within 6 months, I had bought all the lenses shown below ...

But I am resting my case til my exams was all over in July (I needed to pass it this time :P)

I am dreaming on all these new lenses coming out later this year! Maybe no D645 until I got some of the gem lenses.

p.s. Mo, you probably had all the lenses now. How many do you have altogether? Maybe Jim King might have seen this. He probably had more than 100 lenses ...

I have a dreadful admission - I'm in serious LBA remission!

In the next year I hope to reduce my current lens count (9) to 5 or less!

My LBA seems to have started when those funny LBA stickers arrived in the mail. My conspiracy theory is as follows. MO is helping Pentax spread LBA by sending these stickers out all over the world!
If we are counting Pentax fitting lenses I have approx 15. If we are counting other camera mounts (Olympus & Leica) we could about triple that number. Thats not even counting the T mount lenses (mostly mirror & telescopes) which add another 7. Eek. I think I need a lens about now.
thanks

My LBA kind of got serious after I got a short term job, right after my first level of tertiary studies. By the end of last year, I had 6 lenses. 4 out of 6 lenses were older than myself, haha!

Curiosity probably killed the cat, but it filled my dry cabinet for sure. The beginning of 2007 was anti-LBA treatment - managed to get rid of 2 lenses which were used the least. That's a nice 33% reduction, and planning to clear off another 2.

Trouble is, a new lens is coming in tomorrow

I've also got a real bad case. It's frightening. Got the K10D in December and thought I'd stick with just the kit lens for a year or so until I got the hang of using a full blown DSLR. Already picked up FIVE new lenses and having a whale of a time restraining myself from acquiring more. This LBA obsession is unlike anything I've expreienced in any other hobby and I can't figure out exactly why that is. one thing that seems to help is to look the other way and immediately click the "BACK" button on my browser menu whenever I come across a particularly stunning image.
