*signs up for the LBA Anon club*

I just had a coworker walk into my office and laugh at the my desk which is littered in black lenses and camera bodies. *hangs head*

"Is this why you ran out of your office to greet the new CEO when they turned up the other day? So they wouldn't see your addiction?"

what can I say????

Cameras & lenses at work, you must be hiding them from someone at home? Yes you have LBA & CBA!

What's CBA?

Anyway, what's the point of bringing home all the M42 lenses when the mount hasn't even arrived yet?? All mail arrives at work and not home (I live too far from the post office for packages to be realistically signed for .. uhuh.... that's my story and I'm sticking to it) so the minute the adapter arrives, I can try out all the lenses at once. If I brought them all home, I'd have to wait till I got home before I tried them..........

EDIT - oh, i just figured out CBA = Camera Buying. Gotcha.
no no no... *looks askance at second k100d body*

to be fair, the film bodies all came as lots with the lenses. yup. not going into film photography. *kicks film developing stuff under the desk*

I considered this:
Funny you should mention that. Before I had the dSLR and lenses, I had a housecar (small RV). If I can sell a splendid historic adobe house (completely refurbed) in Bisbee Arizona, I can buy another housecar. Then my lenses will have a home-on-wheels. Drive up to a shoot. Camp there for a few days/weeks. Exhaust all optical possibilities. Then move on. And try not to think about acquiring a trailer to store all the lenses I find whilst driving around.

Bisbee Arizona, one of the most photogenic places in North America! An old mining town at 5500ft / 1650m on the Sonora border, built into steep canyons. 40% of the homes in Old Bisbee are on staircases, not streets. Ah, but my adobe is only up 7 steps, is adjacent to the tiny historic photogenic friendly downtown, and has a parking space! We'll spend winter-spring 2012 there unless it sells. Anyone here who is tired of deep-freeze winters and hurricane summers and who wants to relocate to an artists' colony, PM me.

I can go macro by just throwing an M42 tube behind the CZJ Tessar 50/2.8 (12 blades, 110g) or Meyer Helioplan 40/4.5 (12 blades, 100g) so I can leave fatter macro glasss at home. For this mini-kit, I get enough reach with my tiny Enna Tele-Sandmar 100/4.5 (110g, half the size of a SuperTak 55/2), so I can leave longer fine Taks and M's at home. Well, maybe I'll stick the TeleTak 200/5.6 in another pocket. But the Tele-Sandmar makes the wee tiny M135/3.5 (270g) and Enna Tele-Ennalyt 135/3.5 (260g) look enormous.
I dont have any of these (for the moment ;-) but they sound great. One of mine newest is the M20/4, won bid, but expensive and probably highest ratio rate of size, weight & dollar.
Do you find the jupiter11 135/4 small enough?

also just added photos taken by the M20/4, Petri28/2.8, Nikkor50/1.4 and few by the Tomioka55/1.2 under the url in my signature.

Use' em Or Lose' em!

Due to a quite rare and uncurable genetic blood disorder, my LBA is only manifested in lenses containing a large "M" in the title.
My Manual Lenses. Pentax K10D, DA 16-45mm@ 20mm... - rbefly's Album: rbefly photos - PentaxForums.com
But as my latest medication begins to slowly work into my bloodstream, I have visions of floating letters in a sea of bokeh, wisping through my mind's eye.
Faint at first, dreamlike, but then I capture a clear image....
DA,,,,DA,,,, but what's that other letter? could it be...no, it's a STAR!!!!
A star, of course! A star will make me feel more alive, more real. A star will make me...star-like.
It's all so clear now.
A-hem. Where was I?

The J-11 (310g) is about comparable in bulk to the M135/3.5 (270g), a little longer and thinner but denser. All the 135s seem monstrous next to the Tele-Sandmar (110g). BTW the Tele-Sandmar is often available for under US$20. It's meant for the Argus-C3 rangefinder (The Brick!) but is VERY easy to mod for PK. Get a one-buck PK body cap. Ream a hole in it. Glue it around the knurled focus ring. Voila!

Occupational hazard. Don't inhale. Right...

I have my LBA under control. There's only 12 in the picture...

I did receive a scare when my K35/3.5 didn't show up from my American reshipper. But the camera body didn't fit in the box and she forgot to take the lens off and send it. So I'll wait a little longer for that, an M50/1.7 (I have an A) and the F35-70.

Only 5 are new to me. DA40, M50/4macro, M50/2, tak 55/1.8 and tak 105/2.8. Still waiting on a few others and because there is a box being shipped I can do more ebaying...

And of course it's the DA40. After that probably the macro since it's my first macro.

The 50/2 is my first ebay disappointment since the focus ring is a little stiff. But that's a pretty good success rate and a stiff focus ring isn't that bad. But I'm unlikely to use it much anyway since I have better 50's. It will probably get resold once I figure out the Taiwanese auctions. that probably means getting a friend to handle it.

The Fujinon 55/3.5 macro with belonging tube (to get 1:1) came through my door - it is in M42 mount. Still not usable until some minor modification.
The lens is in auto mode only, so i need to turn this lens to manual mode. There is a metal piece sticking out at the aperture ring, that may be used to set f value in the body; this piece is sticking out and prevents to mount the lens. Dremel'ed, gone.

The Soligor 105/2.8 is also in M42, smaller than the M100/2.8. very well build, that surprised me a lot. My experience with soligor is just trash. Will spend some time to use it and compare with the M100/2.8. Not 10 blades as I hope for but 8 blades ;-)
