Well, like I posted elsewhere, if you want to own a lens faster than f0.8, you got 21 hours to bid on this:

Zeiss Jena 50mm f/0.77 M42 or Nikon F w/ incl. adapter - eBay (item 150334257759 end time Mar-27-09 21:38:51 PDT)

:-DDDDDD
i believe the intial posting on this was on RangeFinderForum. the lens is fixed focus macro. to actually use it, you need a reversing ring. (as you can read in the posting). the movie is really cool tho, watch it!

Well, I'm the addict ... though, it seems I'm by far not the worst case around.

Hi m80, I'm quite sure the gentleman that posted that lens is insane and really doesn't want to let it go but would if anyone wanted to pay that price. He could still go buy another one and come out way ahead. I recently saw the same lens on Craigslist/Boston for under 3K. I posted that one from SD because it was outrageous.

Because of your impeccable taste in optics, and due to the unusual circumstances involved (replacing your stolen lenses), we at LBA-Anonymous are prepared to grant you a special dispensation. Providing, of course, you can assure us that you didn't get too excited ordering all those lenses in such an unusually short period of time!

I just bought the voigtlander 90, which is as long as I need for anything that interests me at the moment. I've been lusting after it for a while and finally broke down because I got news I'm going on business to Australia. Obviously it was a "but this could be a once in a lifetime event, I need the lens to capture it better!" rationalization.

I said to myself "ok, this will pretty much cover me: I have a wide (DA 21), a fast medium (FA 50) and now a 90. All set." I was fine for about two days. Now I'm lusting after the FA 31. The speed, the build quality, the amazing photos I've seen taken with it, the fact that it's an almost perfect focal length when mounted on APS-C... *sigh* Is this how it begins?

I think my dad has this disease too. He just got a Canon 5D Mark II, and ordered the new 24mm 1.4 L those lucky Canonites have. Now he's mulling the 85mm 1.2 L, too.

Finally! A lens I don't want! Am I cured?!!!

So, did you just drill a hole in a plastic cap from a gas can? Or is that a real Holga?

LOL! Only yesterday I was discussing with my wife the solution to our necessity of replacing the bathroom (she had discovered that the shower leaked in a corner and that there was no longer a floorboard at that point - we *need* to do something). To most of the solutions I replied "sure, but I will have to win the lottery first". Then she retorted "but if you won the lottery the first thing you'll do is buy more lenses". Look at my list below, she knows that it is not an expensive habit at the moment... but she does not really know the shopping list in my head...
