I'm actually on the market for one really curious about this amazing viewfinder people keep telling me about.

Congrats for the purchase =) I think I'll settle with the DA version someday

the viewfinder on the ME Super is superb...and the 31mm f/1.8 balances perfectly on the ME Super...it feels as if the camera is one unified piece of metal.

I have some 35mm technical pan film fresh out of the fridge and a fresh Pentax LX ready to test the FA31mm jewel, and I'll see how well it stacks up against other 35's...I'll also compare it against the older Pentax K 30mm f/2.8 Though I predict the 30mm will lose in terms of image quality. And I'll also compare it against some of the Zeiss, leica and voigtlander RF lenses. it's going to be a busy weekend.

I don't test lenses on digital...too many variables...I like to keep things simple. I verify the test results using ilford Pan F exposed at ISO25 to reduce the overbearing contrast of Pan F and it will also allow for finer grain which will test this lens to the limits. I use a modified formulation of Technidol for Tech pan that has extended shelf life because kodak discontinued Tech-pan years ago...this developer delivers "normal" looking negs....though the resolution is astonishing.

The last limited lens I tested was the 77mm f/1.8 and at f/4 it matched the Leica Apo-Summicron-M 75mm f/2 ASPH.

It's a beaut. Double thumbs-up from me!!!

First for me is the 60-250mm, but this one is my second purchase... I actually ordered a black one a while back, but had to cancel the order because of an attack of conscience.

I... want... one...

yeah it starts with one, then you end up walking down the street with a new lens and a cadre of people chasing you trying to get you into a white coat with all these straps on it...

Congradulation. Did you buy it from Australian stores? That would definitely cost a bit for sure.

Thought you're talking about the lens not the camera since this is the SLR Lens Discussion section...

yeah, I did. But then I would have a place to return it for service, or replacement if anything went wrong with it. And besides the store here in Adelaide that I get most of my stuff from is very good...with staff that actually know what they are taking about...a opposed to being staffed by pubescent boys that think a contax is something you put in your eye.

ione thing about the FA31 on the K10D it's basically a fast fifty, I never realised how much I missed that focal length on digital until now.and it goes without saying that this lens is very very sharp

two images from my new FA 31mm f/1.8 limited

That picture says about 2 words to anyone here: Thirty-one Limited.

And nobody says that. It's "a thousand words."

Congrats to Digitalis on your purchase!

Membership to "The Club" apparently seems something to aspire for; one of these days I'll get there...

From what I heard, SA people are getting better service from their own camera stores than what we have here. Unlike the Melbournians, we are at the mercy of ignorant fools...

I truely like that first image. Very moody there.

The perspective of 31mm still remains the same regardless of the crop. I agree on this gem.
