Received mine on saturday here in Germany.

I惴 very impressed with sharpness and extrem low barrel distorsion.

A good friend of mine has written a nice test:

http://forum.digitalfotonetz.de/userpix/3484_Testbericht_Pentax_DA15.doc

Its in German language, but you can see the pics and the crops.

His conclusion is:
"My expectations were finally clearly exceeded, in particular the excellent distortion correction, as well as the very good sharpness and high resolution says that its a perfect lens for architecture photography.

Great! Could you do some corner sharpness tests? Like a photo of a newspaper or brick walls?

I'm shocked with test results in DOC. I've see different results from 3 DA15. Very poor. You have ANOTHER lens.
Even F4's corners sharpness is very good. And lens is VERY sharp at 5.6-8. DA14 is worse....

As I mentioned above the test is from user tzcobretti: Foto Testberichte - Meine Homepage

I will drop Thomas a line. But he is in hospital at the moment, so I think we have to wait for his pics.
The next days I will be on tour with my Da15 and so I will take the chance to make pics like that.

Hey Rainer,
Wow, you get all the toys first!
Thanks again for all the pics!

That report your friend made is great, and his site seems to be a great resource--makes me wish I took more than one year of German in school!

But I had to pay a high price. The lens was OK for 560 Euro imported from the UK. But my wife says that I have to sell a lens when buy a new one. So I gave away my loved DA35...

Yes Thomas did always a great job. I m so lucky to now him personly and he is a very serios and keen photographer with a big collection of Pentax and Nikon stuff. That he uses a Nikon D300 with N24-70 2.8 and N70-200 2.8 and also loves his K20D with his Limiteds makes me be shure that I惴 on the right way.

Ouch! Thomas has my dream dual system, those N gold ring zooms are scarily sharp, very much at par with the quality primes out there. But they hurt my wallet so much!

Thanks for the report! I'm looking forward to getting my own DA15 sometime in the coming months

Yes, the Nikons are nice camerastuff. But think that for one 24-70 2.8 you can buy here in Germany a Pentax K20D with two or three Limiteds. The Nikon prices are crazy.

Just one fun shot at f4. I never thaught that the Pentax guys could manage to build a 15mm Limited Prime with so sharp IQ at f4 :

Tomorrow I will post seriouse pics from the DA15.
