What lens should I add to my collection?

I'm sure this thread's never been done before, right?

I have a K100D, currently with four lenses:
Kit lens (I'll be selling this soon)
Pentax 16-45 f/4
Pentax 50 f/1.4
Tamron 70-300

I want to buy another lens to add to the collection, but I'm really at a loss. Part of me wants to buy a zoom to cover the gap between the 45 and 70 range. Part of me wants to get another really nice prime--maybe dedicated to macro. And part of me wants to go get something "cheap" and artistic/fun, like an older manual focus fisheye lens or something for under $100 (is there such a thing?).

I guess, since I'm on a budget, it would be smart for me to go with something "cheap" and fun. Something I can find used/older K-mount/manual that will give me something artistic/unique to play with (any ideas besides fisheye?). So I think that's what I would prefer, if anybody has any recommendations, or could point me in some kind of direction. Something to give me a new angle on the days I get bored of shooting with my "normal" lenses.

However, if there's just really a knockout lens in the sub-$400 range I should be considering that would fit perfect with my collection, I'm listening.

Seriously, I know I don't have many posts here and this type of question probably gets asked often enough, but I'd really, really appreciate thoughtful advice. Thank you!

You've got pretty good coverage so without upgrading your 70-300 which would be out of your price range anyway I'd go DA35 Limited. You get a great normal lens that's sharp as all hell and 1:1 macro as well.

A second vote for the DA 35mm f2.8 Limited

Good price, fantastic quality, fantastic image quality, versatile focal length, macro capability, compact.

You are missing a macro and a lens that is around the normal (35 mm for the Pentax sensor) range.

The DA 35 limited looks nice, but I can't find it much cheaper than $450-500. And honestly, $400 is really even pushing it for me. I just bought the 16-45 about a month ago and can't afford to spend too much on another new one. If anybody knows where I might be able to find the DA 35 for under $400 though, I might consider it.

Any ideas along the lines of bargain/unique/creative lenses?

I don't know how well the Raynox Macro converter works with 70-300. It's perfect with my DA 50-200 though.

Maybe you can get into the takumar primes as well. They're a joy to use =)

In line of fisheye, the Zenitar 16mm has gone back to its old price these days (150$) and might be worth a look if you can't get the DA 10-17 yet.

Might be too late given the rumored Canadian price increase, but Carman's - aka prophotobags on Amazon, aka prodigital2000 on Ebay - often sells the DA35 for less when they have it in stock. If they don't have it, they don't list it, so you have to keep checking the listings on Amazon and their Ebay store. Could well be that they won't be offering it so cheap any more, though.

Plenty of options; helps to have a more specific idea of what you might like, though. You mention fisheye - the Zenitar 16 is pretty well liked and isn't particularly expensive (albeit not under $100). As for macro, you should be able to find one of the older MF macros - either 50mm or 100mm - for somewhere around that $100. Or a set of extension tubes for your 50.

I notice you don't really have anything in the way of a good fast portrait lens (aside from the 50, which is rather short). The Jupiter 9 is an 85/2 that makes for a very nice portrait lens, although being a pre-set screw mount lens (requiring an adapter), I gather it takes some getting used to, and it's not much over $100. I like my M100/2.8, although it's on the long side for portraits, but it's fabulous for concerts and other stage performances if you can be decently close, and it can be had for around $100. The M135/3.5 is also nice as a very compact and reasonably fast telephoto lens.

Other cheap/fun options would include a mirror lens or one of the older Lensbaby models.

What's a mirror lens? And what are Lensbaby models? This is exactly what I meant by suggestions , because I don't really know exactly what I want. if I go the bargain/fun route, I want something really unique that doesn't produce standard images. Fisheye was just an example. But anything that's unique/creative/fun that would give me a more artistic angle when shooting, when I want something different from my normal lenses. Mirror lens sounds interesting.

And joelovotti, thank you! I will definitely consider that now. Appreciate it.

Edit: I briefly looked up info on mirror and Lensbaby lenses. They sound ok, but I'm looking for something even more unique/fun. Are there any bargains to be found on tilt/shift lenses, or are those usually pricier?
