Pentax 77mm f1.8

I have never even seen one in person but this is surely one lens that's been raved about a lot...

Since I am serious about ordering one, which is considered more desirable/popular, black or silver?

Thanks.

Sold!

Just placed an order for a Silver 77mm (at least I think I am getting one in Silver because except for the picture on my order, text does not specifically say its Silver or Black...)

And after reading the review by James (https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-slr-lens-discussion/1962-review-sm...8-limited.html), I am particularly happy about my decision to spend a little over $500 for this gem.

Thanks.

It's totally subjective, of course, and there are fans for each color.

They're both beautiful (see below), although I personally prefer the black...

Big mistake--the black one takes much better photos! ;~)

My photos that get the most compliments from family and friends were all taken with this lens. Great choice! Enjoy.

I admire at people with both silver and black. I can't afford both and end up with the silver one. I love both colors!

I should point out, however, as one who showed pix with both colors, that they were taken in a temporary overlap -

I originally ordered a black one when the black version first came out (some of you may remember that the silver ones were released earlier than the black ones). When B&H sent a silver by mistake, I asked them to ship me a black one, but I held onto the silver just long enuf to get a black-and-silver shot or two (or three).

Although I do like the black more, the silver is indeed nice, too. And, despite what dadipentak said in jest (<g>), the photons and the electrons don't care...

If you are old school, go for Black

I am more interested in silver colour these days.

whichever you choose really doesn't matter...just as long as it has the glass, you will not be disappointed.

I agree with Digitalis.

The colour doesn't matter...just the lenses inside it.
