The lens is good for short-range and middle-range shots.
As for landscape distance - it's rather weak at K20D

That sure looks to me like somebody used the oil paint filter in Photoshop. Not the best way to judge a lens, if you ask me.

Rainer, schöne Bilder!

You've proven that in real use (not brick wall shots, not charts) this lens is very good. I would also not trust shots unless the person who took them posted them...which you have

Vielen Dank

Oh and that tree shot is spectacular!

A few pics from this week.

f6,3

f6,3

f6,3

f4,0

I look forward very mutch to use the lens on my hiking trip on the West-Highland-Way in Scotland next week.
Not to overstress my body I will only take the DA15 and the DA55 on the K20D with me. 20kg in the backpack are enough.

Based on your results with both those lenses, I'm looking forward to the photos from your hike

Pardon my bluntness, but have you looked at the photo?

It says less than nothing about the lens.
The castle is washed out by overexposure. And the horizon is camouflaged by haze.

A great lens is sharp all over wide open. A very good lens gives excellent results stopped down to f4 - f5.6. A lens that's soft at f4 - f5.6 is very common for around $150.

A 15mm lens for $150? Where can I get that?
