Zenitar 16/2.8 is around $150...

Great lens for the price.

I honestly think that the Pentax 12-24 f4.0 lens is a much better bet. More versatile, same aperture and the results from the 12-24 are stunning.

Ben
But the 1224 is a so much big lens. I think buyer for the DA15 is mostly for its small and compact size and cool factor. Otherwise the DA14/2.8 is a more logical choice (not counting zooms).

Sure, but it's a fisheye.

My DA15 has arrived this weekend and it is tack sharp in the middle, wide open.

I guess that the guy at dpreview who tested this lens has got a camera with a badly adjusted AF module.

I think that Jim's use with the K-M highlights the whole point of this lens--decent quality at small size. Having attempted to go back to a P&S camera for travel situations, I'm looking into the same kind of small and light setup. A K-M, and a few pancakes would be a nice alternative to the P&S.

For $150, your choices are slim...that was the purpose of my post

infinity focus

The 15 limited focuses to infinity within about 6' the 12-24 in about 10-12'. For that reason alone I'd buy the 15.
