Promaster vs. Tamron 2x Teleconverter

Does anyone have any experience with the Promaster 2x 7 element teleconverter? How about the Tamron 2x 7 element?

Thanks!
Mark

Hey Mark,
I got a tamron f 2x 7element tc recently, and it seems OK. I haven't tried it out much yet, but here is a sample I took today. It was cloudy and strong backlight showing some fringing, but it was on a zoom (sigma 100-300 f4) at f5.6 iso 800 and cropped a tad, k20d. I will try it on my 300mm f2.8 when it comes back from getting a focus adjustment.

The Promaster is supposedly made by Tokina as is the Kenko MC7 2X AF. I was trying the Kenko/Tokina today with the f*300mm. Heres a sample.

Here is the Tamron F SP 2X KR BBAR MC7 hooked up with a 165mm 2.8 Pentax 6 x 7 lens. Shot @ f 5.6 in a recent test shot

Jewelltrail,
Ah spring... either that or some sort of space alien!
I really like the clarity. Fast glass and a quality multiplier seem to work pretty nice.

Thanks Mark--I'm not a big tele fan, but agree with your comments here. Wide open, in high contrast situations, you have to beware of CA with this setup--but what elese is new. And yes, how sweet spring is--finally
