Can anyone tell me where I can find a reputable dealer who has this lens in stock? There are multiple dealers who have them for other brand cameras, but none I can find who has the lens with a Pentax mount. I called customer service at Sigma, and they said the lens should be available by the end of April, but I suspect that may be like the folks at Tamron who told me their 18-250mm lens for Pentax should be available by the end of February, and still no lens in sight. I had been planning to use the 17-70 as my walk-around lens on a once-in-a-lifetime (for me) trip next month.

That I find this post about the Sigma lens that I have been researching about month or so for, but could not find anywhere in stock and there it is on ebay for a great price. It was between this and the Tamron SP AF28-75mm F/2.8 XR Di LD Aspherical (IF) lens that I was debating over as my new walk around lens.

Well, I took the plunge with the Tamron (which should be here tommorrow) b/c I didn't want to wait any longer than I had already have. I thought that I had covered all of my bases for availability of this lens. Oh well, I am sure that I will love the Tamron once I have it and start shooting with it.

Many thanks. I just ordered one from Delaware Camera. About $100 cheaper than Henry's.

My experience with Delaware Camera while buying the lens was just fine (A+++ in ebay terms). So far I love the lens. I haven't done any really critical testing of it, but what I have done shows the lens is fine, sharp and crisp.

Tri-state camera has them too. Shipping was free for me, but I don't know if it's always that way.
