Leitz 60mm f/2.8 Macro-Elmarit-R

So, it is time to present my next LBA lens.

It is 26 years old. It gives great colours, very nice bokeh, is extremaly good for portraits and good enough for general use - means people photos. I have no problems taking shots with flash and this lens.

Hehe a theme of polish street shots.

The colour is stellar as typical as Leica rendering.

Good bokeh so far

I have yet acquired any more Leica lenses for fun. Maybe I will get a 19mm Elmarit to play with

Good shooting

For some reason, I really, really like that last shot, regardless of the lens used to shoot it.

So how do you convert or what adapter to use leica on pentax body? Do you have any macro shots you would like to share from this lens.

BTW great shots.

as for now I have:
Summicron 35/2 - last in my collection, I hadn't enough time to test it, but first shots are really promising
Summicron 50/2 - which is good, has biult-in hood - what I like, has good bokeh
Elmarit 60/2.8 Macro - which I like more than Summicron 50, has great bokeh
Elmarit 180/2.8 - sharp at 2.8, great bokeh and build-in hood
Telyt 560/6.8 - which replaced my old K500/4.5 - but still not in use because needs to be adapted to K bayonet

I thought about Summmicron 90/2 but because I've just bought Vivitar 90/2.5 S1 and still has Voigtlander 90/3.5 I will rather not buy it now.

Overall what they have in common is 'Leica' like colours - different from Pentax lenses. They are very balanced - if they are sharp in center than they are similar in sharpnes at borders, CA is really well controled - better than in Pentax top lenses.

I use Leitax conversion kit. It is well done and conversion is quite easy. The only cons is price - around 80Euro.

No, I didn't had chance to take some real 'macro' shots. From kitchen tests it looks to be less sharp than Voigtlander 125 and DA 35.

These flowers were really very small - about 2cm long.

no I don't. Does it has any lens element inside? Or it is just simple macro extension tube?

Thank you Piotr for the answers and the photos. I remember seeing those kits now that you mention it. For the right lens it would be worth the price.

Absolutely gorgeous colour with this lens!

I got one myself recently and love it for portraits especially but it is sharp enough as a macro I think.

Why don't you sell me the VS1 90mm and replace it with the summicron.. let me know if you really do, I've been looking hard for one of these!

Great pictures - wish I had one myself! I was looking for this lens a while back as well, but got a mamiya sekor 60mm 2.8 at a lower cost for it. Am not sure how the two compares optically, but the mamiya performs great for me and am sure that its capability is beyond what I can maximise, mediocre shooter that I am. The mamiya does go to 1:1 without any adaptors though.

I've reviewed the mamiya (links here and here), but pardon the poor image quality as it has been compressed for uploading and the pictures aren't stellar either. My question is, has anyone had experience with both lenses before, and how do they measure up?
