Any suggestions on what SR setting to use for my recently-acquired Vivitar 19mm/3.8? My K10d gives me the options of 18mm or 20mm.

It's always safer to go too low (and have SR not quite work as effectively as it could, but still be better than nothing) than to go too high (and have SR overcompensate to the point of being *worse* than no SR).

Overcompensating by just 1mm probably wouldn't make it worse than not having it at all, but still, on general principles, I don't see any reason not to undershoot.

Thanks Marc. SR probably isn't a must with a lens this wide, but I almost always have it on anyway. Never hurts to have a second opinion.

Me too, if for no other reason than the fact that it's the only way to get the focal length into the EXIF with manual lenses!

Go for 18mm. In fact, little difference between the two focal lengths. Negligible.
