Pentax genuine rear caps question

Hi all

I only notice now that some of my pentax genuine rear caps don't cover the electrical contacts and other do.

Don't know what to think....

Anyone ?

Pentax altered the rear cap when A contacts were introduced. They added a flange to cover the caps. A rear cap without the flange was made for K or M lenses.

Where can I find caps for the lens with A contacts ?

Just about anywhere, used.

Pentax still make them and you can probably get them there.

If you were in the US I'd say KEH or B&H/Adorama. Europe must have a similar internet camera dealer.

The ones here are supposed to be for PKA/AF and original.

I've received A lenses with non-flanged caps. I think ("think" is the key word) that some of them came with the K1000/A 50/2 packages since I see a lot of those around...

Not sure if you know this, but I'll take the chance anyway. The rear caps can still cover the pins, without having a flange. So, if you are just looking to protect the pins, these will do the job for you.
