Rented the DA10-17 :)

Just thought I would share that I am renting the 10-17 next week. I am thinking it will be the next purchase so I am going to take it for a test drive.

You're going to have fun Pat. It's just occurred to me, renting a lens, especially something like a FE is probably the best way to go. Fisheyes aren't your everyday lens so renting one is a great way to give yourself the incentive to really play with it and see if it's worth owning one.
I look forward to seeing the pics.

BTW, I moved this thread to the lens section, it is a lens thread after all.

It is such an excellent lens in deed. I love utilising this lens when I am bored

Just watch out fringeing

Pat...

Are you renting from Camera Lens Rentals? I rented it from them for the Obama Inauguration and LOVED it. It was a fun lens. Here is a sample:

YUP that would be the one Mike!!! it is on the way and will be here Monday. I timed it well for a few reasons. One is the Sox game I am heading to and two a paying gig of sorts.

I have a few webdesign friends that know I do this photogrpahy thing. One recently asked me about shooting pictures for a contractor in the area for a website she is buidling for him. Coincidentaly I know the contractor as well. So I figure the wide angle is going to be perfect for some of the shots they need for the website. Now the question everyone hates....... what to charge? I am doing some homework over the weekend to come up with a price. If all works out the job could actually pay for the lens That would be a great and easier to get the CFO (wife ) to approve the purchase.

Great lens!

Use sparingly when showcasing your work for a lot of pop to your portfolio. Great for taking pictures of buildings, scenery, and people (yep!).

I p/u one a couple of months ago and have really enjoyed it. It has a great build quality to it too.

Well, my LBA won out and I bought the 10-17 that popped up in the Marketplace yesterday and am looking forward to using it. I've been debating between the fisheye and a better quality telephoto in the 300 to 400 mm range and it looks like the fisheye won.
