longer lens!

went to the park today with my only lens the 31mm...
the 31 is amazing in door or at a busy street but at the park I needed to get much much closer to get people and much wider to get the view.

so zoom or prime?

sigma- 24-70?
DA* 16-50? (would you get this lens now? when the future is unclear?)

or

FA 100 macro?

FA 77?

DA 70?

these 5 are my biggest itch right now, later I will get a 70-200 and a wide wide

which of those should I get? help me please

Very tough choice. I have the 31 Ltd., the 77 Ltd. and the 16-50. All three of them are stellar. But, for your use, I think I'd go with the 77 just for the extra reach. If you had included the 50-135, the answer would have been different. The 16-50 is superb, it's just too close to your 31.

I would go for the DFA 100 macro since you get a portrait lens and also a macro lens.

Later you go for 70-200 f2.8 :P

OK thank you for that!
that actually helped me a lot. BC I was already unsure about the short zooms.

so 77mm or 100mm or 50-135?

its so hard I need all of them

next to me in the park set a photographer for the new york times with two 5D's one with 24-70L
one with 70-200L

I was so envy he got all the shots I wanted to get

If you do not know what exactly what to shoot, stick with Fa 77mm ltd if money is no issue.

Pentax Fa 77mm ltd f1.8 gallery

Da 70mm has been my favorite because of its small size and ease to use in the street.

These two lenses are the ones I used when I have no ideas what to shoot during regular photography outing

OK I think that the 77 its is!...but as I know my self I might go the B&H and end up with the 40 and 70 BC those tiny lenses are just TO COOL!!

for macro I am still trying to get the vivitar 105 (FYI if any one is looking to sell). my 31 (and I am guessing the 77 is the same) focusing very very close its almost semi macro.

Actually, the 77 Ltd is rather small compared to most lenses. Not a pancake, but if I compare it to the FA*85 1.4 I used to have, it is very small.

Odd man out?
I go to the park with my 55-300.
I can get flowers (lovely OOF backgrounds), birds, squirrels, tortoises, people and general scenery - just love the lens.

That brings you back to the DA* 50-135, IMHO.
