FA 35mm f/2.0

I got bored so I thought I'd try out this lens and see what it has to offer. This lens is amazingly sharp.

I purchased this lens a few weeks ago during the will-never-be-in-stock-again scare. Guess what, it's back on the shelves again.

Ow well, it's a perfect lens for the price.

Hard to beat at that price

I simply love this lens! I can't compare it to the Limited 31, but I can compare it to some other legends: A* 600mm 5.6, F*300mm 4.5, A*200 2.8 and A*85mm 1.4. All those are fantastic lenses, but the FA 35 does defend it's corner in the bag anyway. And if you compare it on an "image quality per dollar" basis it's simply amazing how so much quality can be squeezed into such a low priced lens. If you have a chance: buy it!

Fast focus

I literally just got mine today. I haven't had time to do much careful analysis of images, but it's *really* fast focusing with the K20D (1.03 firmware). I am very impressed. I lusted after a 31 limited, but not anymore!

I want this lens so bad but it's out of stock everywhere. Maybe this lens is discontinued.

Still listed as available at That's where I got mine. Better hurry, that's the only place I found it listed... B&H has it "discontinued."

I'm very pleased with mine! I use it for photojournalism. Focuses fast and the f/2.0 comes in handy! For photographing people on the move, not having the ability to zoom can be a good thing. I'd rather be snapping some shots instead of zooming in and out, because by then it may be too late.

Congrats on the lens! This lens belongs in every photographer's bag, IMO. I've found very few situations where it doesn't work - the focal length and aperture make it useful for almost anything - landscapes, portraits, night shooting, and using the reverse trick with my 50/1.4 it does damn good macro too.
