Pentax 16-45

First off, I read these it somewhere but can't remember: K100D support KAF2 mount right? Does it support these new SS lens?

Second i want to BRAG!!!! I got a 16-45mm!! I finally bite the bullet and buy one --- and now this poor boy is gonna be broke... Freaking LBA!!! Anyway... I been reading about it and talking to a friend... It was this or the Tamron 28-75mm.. This has the 100 dollar rebates so I couldn't pass it.. The new 16-50mm is too expensive for my taste.

It will be here Tuesday! I can't wait.

You'll like the new lens. Every photo I have seen taken by the 16-45mm is tack sharp.

Great lens. It's on my K10D 90% of the time. I just wish today's lenses were faster, f/1.8 to f/2.8.

Is it just me? The lens hoods for most Pentax lenses have a little square portion on the bottom side. Up to a few weeks ago, I never noticed it. If you remove it while using a Polarizing filter, It is easier to rotate the filter. I should have read the instructions.

The K100D has the "crippled" KAF mount, not the "crippled" KAF2 mount that the K10D has, the K100D at this stage will allow screw AF on the new lenses but not SDM that the K10 will allow. There was speculation based on the mirror box of the K100D that pentax would offer an update to the mount so it would be compatible, but considering how many are out there i very much doubt that would happen.

Congrats on the new lens! It seems to be a great one! Post pics after you've played with it for a bit!
