Having fun w/ Tokina 90/2.5 ATX macro lens (imgs)

Got this lens quite a while ago, but hadn't used it much until recently. The first trip w/ it was to the Botanic Garden, just wanted so see why it's called 'Bokina'. I was a bit too lazy to carry a tripod, all photos were shot handheld, some of them would definitely be a lot better if I had a tripod w/ me:

The second trip was to the Zoo w/ my kids. Well, I didn't shoot much of my own kids, but captured some lovely kids there at the Kids World, most photos were taken at wide open aperture:

And this little girl really had some fun there at the park:

We had a Pentax Outing here in Singapore a week ago. I took some closeups and people shots w/ this lens, quite like some of them:

Two of our lovely Pentaxians:

You can see how much fun we had during the outing by looking at Felix' face:

Of course I also used the lens to take some of my kids' photos:

Just wanna show how capable the lens is, here is a slightly bigger size of my dad (the best model I ever shot at), an indoor shot at wide open aperture:

As usual, all your pictures induce LBA that's more contagious than the swine flu...

I tried looking for this lens for more than a year and gave up... it is soooo rare to find one, what more the mint condition one that you have. The colours are really punchy... envy

Thanks Denis I was lucky to see one on eBay w/ a reasonable BIN price. After some use, kinda like it better than the A100/2.8 macro

Wow, It's been a while since I see macro bokeh that makes me go wow. Did I just repeat that? lol Great color pallete selection from you, too... I think I'm a new fan of this lens

Thanks again Andi I really like this lens, it's my most used lens lately (but I haven't shot much lately anyway). Hopefully it'd stay that way for a while ...

Great series!
I am also very lucky to have this lens, performance is great!
Indeed, I like this lens better than my Pentax F-100mm 2.8 macro.

Thanks That's cool. For macro work, I think these are all great lenses, and Pentax 100mm macro lens can get to 1:1 mag ratio w/o using any adapter. But this lens is super if you don't need 1:1 macro ratio.

Frank, I would love to know the pricing of this lens. Definitely not going to be avaiable in Australia over the next century.

The colour and details are stunning.

Thanks James

I got it for less than $400 from eBay, w/ the 1:1 adapter and original hard case. A bit more than what I planned to spend on it, but after playing for a while, I think it's really worth the cost
